Teacher Tuesday – Amanda Lilley
Tell us about yourself:
I grew up dancing all of my life and have always loved the art of movement. After teaching dance a few years in college and assistant teaching in high school I realized that I loved sharing my passion of music and movement with others. A few years ago I got into spin and took some really phenomenal classes that reminded me of my dance days which is how I really got hooked on the bike! My teaching style is pretty straight-forward. No fluffy verbiage – just mind over matter and give me everything you’ve got in the saddle. My class music ranges from fun top 40 hits to hip hop to easy listening depending on my mood that week – but either Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5 or Queen Bey always make an appearance on my playlist.
What makes your class unique?
I bring a strong, positive vibe to class, motivating my students to be the best they can be and to strive to work harder knowing they can achieve and surpass their goals.
What is something people may not know about you?
I LOVE Shark Week. It’s probably the best week out of the entire year. What’s better than a Great White breaching!? Absolute shark nerd.
What can’t you live without?
My mom. I’m a total Mommy’s Girl – spoiled rotten.
What is your favorite place?
Boston! Sometimes we take for granted the amazingness that we live in, but Buenos Aires, Argentina is a close second.
What is your favorite quote?
“You’ll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut.” – Dr. Seuss
What song sums you up?
Just Dance – Lady Gaga
You can find Amanda in the studio Monday’s at 7am and 7pm and Saturday’s at 10:30am.
